Caledonia Pride are getting ever closer to that elusive first victory. Only nine points split the teams at the end of the game and the difference was only five before Pride started to deliberately give away free throws in the final seconds. I’ve been hugely impressed by the improvements the team have been making from week to week. A few months back this team was being crushed by more experienced teams but over the last fortnight they have proven they can compete with the top teams in the division. Hopefully it won’t be too long before the final pieces of the puzzle fall into place and the results become as positive as the performances.

On the photographing front this was a frustrating day filled with mistakes that resulted in a below par final gallery. Attempting to introduce new elements into my workflow diverted my attention away from the things I usually do well. Technical problems are no excuse for not making the right checks though and mistakes such as not noticing a lens was switched to manual focus need to be avoided. The end result wasn’t a complete disaster and I’ll chalk it up as another learning experience. I’m back out this weekend where I’ll be looking to make vast improvements.
