This was the final home match of the season for St Andrews University so I felt compelled to add it to my calendar. Unfortunately St Andrews have really struggled in the SBC League this year with a lack of both height and regular three point scoring ability in their team. Add that to playing in the unbelievably tough BUCS Premier North against teams which are full of WBBL standard players where heavy defeats every week become the norm. The lack of a winning culture that existed last year where the girls were dominating BUCS Scottish 1A has really hasn’t helped them prepare to play SBC level opposition.

Boroughmuir by contrast are a team very much on the up with a great blend of young talent that is developing at the Scottish U18 level and a few more experienced hands to help them along. There was only going to be one winner here but I had hoped St Andrews could make a contest of the match. Unfortunately Blaze ran away with it and I had to settle for a picture of Paige getting injured, Morag smiling for the camera and Callum demonstrating to the bench how people greet each other in Glenrothes.
