After missing out last week on photographing the opening home game of the season for the new Caledonia Pride team I was pleased that I only had a week to wait for their second match.

I photographed at the new Oriam performance sports complex back in September when the SBC National League held the first round of women’s matches here. Back then the seating was situated in the middle of the hall with two courts setup either side creating a compact and busy feeling venue. For Caledonia Pride matches though the hall is turned into a mini arena with seating along the length of the court to support a capacity of over 300. I was really impressed by the layout and the organisation of the facilities on site. Power points for laptops are always a bonus and there are plenty of great spots from which to photograph without ever causing any potential disturbance. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.
